If you have a young driver in the house, you may be considering helping them purchase their own mode of transportation. Reliable safety is always paramount when it comes choosing a car, but even more so for younger drivers who do not have tons of experience behind the wheel. Everyone will feel much better knowing the car a teen is driving has excellent safety features, such as crash protection, stability control, and side-impact airbags.
For that reason, purchasing a much older car for a teen may not be the best way to go -- you might be better off buying a newer car that is still within your budget. Forbes recently released their list of what they consider the safest, yet affordable cars for young drivers available right now.
