If you're in the market for a dependable used car, it's hard to choose the best one since there are so many models available. Maybe what you need is a scientific method! Recently, Yahoo! Autos published a guide to the 10 best used cars determined through a large statistical study based on real dealer auctions.

The study looked at almost 300,000 vehicles and factored in things like durability, quality and owner satisfaction. Tied for top of the list are the Lexus LX470 and Toyota Land Cruiser, both of which were called "the automotive version of granite." Other cars on the list are the Lexus LS, Toyota Camry, and Honda S2000.
